The Sacramento Women’s Chorus works to be self-supporting through ticket sales for its concerts and receiving honorariums for its other appearances. Beyond that, we are dependent on the generosity of individuals and businesses in our community to help us grow and thrive.
We’d love to say we’ve “got it covered” but the truth is, we need your support more than ever for things like rehearsal and performance space rental, purchase of the rights to perform the music in our concerts, salaries for our Artistic Director and Accompanist, just to name a few of our on-going expenses.
Our aim is to remain true to the principles that drive our musical mission while offering top level entertainment to the community. Support from Sacramento businesses, individuals and small grants is needed to keep us singing for joy! SWC is a 501 (c)3 nonprofit organization and most, if not all, donations are tax deductible.
Ways to Support Us
Prior to our concerts our members solicit local businesses to advertise in our performance program. The ads are very affordable and come with benefits beyond the printed program. Links to advertisers' businesses are posted on this Website along with their ads. We also encourage the enthusiastic audiences attending our concerts to patronize the businesses that support SWC. We are very active fans of our business sponsors!
Our chorus also receives donations from individuals who share our mission and love our music. From bequests to personal donations of any amount, SWC deeply appreciates financial support from people who value our dedication to musical excellence and the principles we express in our music.
In-kind donations – goods and services from individuals and local businesses – also benefit Sacramento Women's Chorus. Musical groups like ours need sound systems and recording equipment, donations of items for our annual Silent Auction and expert services that can help us step up to the challenge of being the best we can be!
Good stewards of public trust
Financial support from our business community and from individuals enables SWC to create better concerts with quality sound, to purchase risers, folders and music, and to give free performances at venues such as nursing homes and charities. We also pay a modest retainer to our director and accompanist to subsidize the personal costs of contributing so greatly to our chorus.
We are very conscious of the responsibility that comes with receiving donated funds. Our chorus is structured with a Board of Directors, officers and team leaders. Our financial officers are accountable to the chorus for the use of funds and to our donors. Please consider how you might support the Sacramento Women’s Chorus with a donation that's music to our ears!
